Tall Timber's Catch & Release Photo Album
The following pictures were sent in to us by Jack and Debbie Thomas of their day out fishing with our guide Jon Howe. They fished the Trophy Stretch this fall and this fish is definitely no tall tale - and he still prowls the river today because he was released! His length was 24", but his weight was an estimation of in excess of five pounds. Jon has fished all over New England and Montana and considers this the largest fish he has seen. Take a look for yourself ...

Our lodge guide, Jon Howe, also took this picture of Scott Rolfe with this beautiful brookie taken on the Connecticut River south of Colebrook, NH during a float trip. The brookie was caught on a wooly bugger and weighed in at approximately four pounds.
The following pictures were taken by Bill Hay and his crew of fishermen this past June. They had a great time fishing one of Pittsburg's outer ponds for brook trout. Many of the brookies in these pictures were in the three to four-pound range.

2001 Pictures
All of the following pictures were
taken by our guru of guiding, Jon Howe. The photos were captured throughout the
fishing season and show how great the fishing is at any time of the year in Pittsburg.
We hope you can make it up to cast a tight line sometime!

A beautiful spawning brook trout in the Trophy Stretch of the Connecticut. This fish was released.

Kevin O'Keefe caught and released this trout under the guidance of Jon Howe.
Just another day fishing on the Trophy Stretch.
Gary Cox makes a cast below 2nd Connecticut Lake dam.
Cindy, with an absolutely beautiful spawning October brook trout. Look at the colors on this fish! It was so cold that Cindy could barely hold on to the fish.

Same day. Still freezing. Though it looks like a brown, this fish's tail gives its i.d. away - it's an incredibly dark salmon. I think she was yelling at Jon to take the picture as fast as he could before she lost feeling in her extremities.

Ed Schmidt catches and releases a lunker
on the Trophy Stretch.

Scenes like this await if you can find
the time to bail out of work for a day or two.
