Resident Services:

Guests of Tall Timber Lodge are advised to inquire about the availability of our resident fly fishing and hunting guides,  Jon Howe, Dave Poole, Tom Caron and Chuck Caron. If it is not possible to secure the services of Jon, Dave, Tom or Chuck, we strongly recommend any of the guides in the "Outside Services" list below. They all carry an abundance of knowledge and experience in fishing and hunting our area.

Northern Rivers Guide Service

We are glad to have Jon Howe's exceptional fly fishing knowledge on board for this season. Those of you from the Conway area will recognize Jon from his years as a member of Hunter's North Country Angler staff. Jon specializes in wading the Connecticut and drifting the Androscoggin and Connecticut rivers. He also is certified from the Federation of Fly Fishers as a fly casting instructor. In addition to his guiding duties, Jon recently authored an article in FlyfishAmerica magazine on drifting the Androscoggin.  Please visit our Catch & Release Album for pictures of some of Jon's clients on the Connecticut River. Stinson Mountain Outfitters

Specializing in wading and drift trips on the Connecticut River, Dave Poole brings years of fly fishing experience in northern New Hampshire to our lodge guests.  Dave also has experience in NH's Lakes Region as well. Upland Bird Hunting

This October, chase the elusive ruffed grouse and woodcock with Tom and his German Shorthaired Pointers Greta and Rudy. Tom has extensively hunted grouse and woodcock in northern New Hampshire and the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont for over twenty years. In addition to their experiences in NH and VT, Greta and Rudy's credentials include the pursuit of wild pheasants, sharp tailed grouse and sage grouse in Montana.  Greta (Prize II, 107 points) and Rudy (Prize I, 112 points) completed the N.A.V.H.D.A.'s Natural Ability test and are eager to get out there this fall.

 Big Game Hunting

This fall, Chuck will guide clients for bear and moose. In addition to the hunt, Chuck's services for the moose season will include scouting, removal of the animal from the woods, and preparation for shipment home. In addition to Chuck, Ken Dionne's many years of experience in Pittsburg's woods will come in handy for those looking for hunting guidance.  Ken will be taking clients out for the moose season this year. Those interested in Chuck and Ken's services are welcome to call the lodge for more information.
